About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Guest Service Assistant – Housekeeping to join our team in a casual capacity. This role is essential in supporting a safe, welcoming, and hygienic hospital environment, where your work has a direct impact on patient care, comfort, and experience every day.
Salary range: $32.02 - $34.52 per hour plus superannuation plus casual loading and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and infection control standards across the hospital, including:
Delivering high-quality cleaning services across patient wards, clinical, surgical, and emergency areas
Maintaining best-practice hygiene and infection control standards, including high-touch point cleaning
Using cleaning equipment, chemicals, and PPE safely and in line with policies and procedures
Responding positively to changing priorities and supporting operational demands
Communicating respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
Contributing to a safe, organised, and professional hospital environment
The opportunity to train in patient transport, linen and hygiene
About you
You are a reliable and detail-focused team member who takes pride in contributing to patient safety and comfort, and you will bring:
A strong commitment to customer service, cleanliness, infection control, and workplace safety
This role requires you to work across a 24-hour rotating roster
High attention to detail with excellent time management and organisation skills
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A respectful, compassionate approach when interacting with patients and visitors
Willingness to complete mandatory training and follow Mater policies and standards
Previous experience in a healthcare or hotel setting (desirable but not essential)
Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (desirable but not essential)
