About the Role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking an experienced and compassionate Dietitian (HP3) to join our Allied Health team. In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality nutrition and dietetic services across a diverse range of clinical areas, including acute inpatient care, rehabilitation services, renal services, cardiac rehabilitation and food services.

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will apply your clinical expertise to deliver evidence-based care, support positive patient outcomes, and contribute to the ongoing development of our Nutrition and Dietetics service.

Salary range: $44.99 - $60.35 plus casual loading per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality nutrition and dietetic services in accordance with professional standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Manage a diverse clinical caseload across inpatient, rehabilitation, renal and cardiac rehabilitation services.
  • Provide nutritional assessment, intervention, monitoring and education to patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to support the delivery of comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds and discharge planning.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, accreditation activities and risk management processes.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and recommendations within your scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Actively contribute to a positive team culture and promote Mater's Mission and Values.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for improving patient outcomes.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
  • Experience working across a broad range of clinical dietetic services, ideally within acute and/or rehabilitation settings.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently with minimal clinical supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and professional development.
  • A patient-focused approach and alignment with Mater's Mission and Values.
