About the role

Mater Mothers’ Hospital is seeking a dedicated and professional Senior Administration Officer to join our friendly team on a 12-month, part-time (20 hours per week) contract.

Applicants must be available to work across a 24/7 roster and have availability to work all shifts including weekends and public holidays.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our services while supporting patients, staff and visitors in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Mater Mothers' Hospitals are leaders in the provision of high-quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers' Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a key member of the Mater Mothers’ Hospital administration team, you’ll provide high-quality support to ensure the smooth operation of daily services.

You will:

  • Deliver exceptional front-line customer service to patients and visitors
  • Manage admissions and discharges
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive and efficient experience for all who interact with Mater

About you

You’re an organised, adaptable professional who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in administration (healthcare experience highly regarded)
  • Strong digital literacy and confidence using systems such as Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A collaborative and flexible attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a tea
