About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced and motivated Registered Nurses to step into a Clinical Nurse position at Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast. We have two permanent roles available (we are open to full time and part time) and one maternity leave cover 12 months for 28 hours per week.

The Clinical Nurse position provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the relevant healthcare team speciality and structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities where applicable.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provides high quality patient care, where advanced clinical skills and knowledge underpin care coordination, collaboration, and communication for excellence in patient outcomes
  • Conducts systematic assessments of patients using an outcome-based framework
  • Implements appropriate evidence-based Nursing interventions and initiates appropriate referrals
  • Plans care in collaboration with individual patients and groups of patients using assessment data which will achieve optimal health, rehabilitation, or dignified death
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care in achieving predicted outcomes and reviews plans in accordance with evaluated data and initiates effective discharge planning processes
  • Collaborates with other health professionals and community services in the delivery of health care

About you

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Tertiary qualification in clinical specialty
  • Positively influences others to identify and act in accordance with clinical and organisational best practice
  • Demonstrates leadership as a role model and clinical leader for the provision of excellence in patient care through the use of evidence-based practice and professional commitment
  • Identifies unsafe practice and responds appropriately to ensure a safe outcome
  • Demonstrates active involvement in meeting the clinical unit's and organisational goals

Desirable: (working towards)

  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant speciality
