About the role
Mater is currently seeking applications for Ward Services Assistants to work within our housekeeping/orderly department on a casual basis. These roles will be based at our Mater Hospital Springfield campus.
Please note full availability is essential in these roles. You will be required to work across a roster spanning Monday to Sunday (inclusive), between the hours of 6am through to 6am, completing 8-hour shifts on a 7-day rotating roster. Actual hours will be discussed at interview.
Salary range: $32.82 - $35.39 per hour plus 23% casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Ward Services team is a welcoming and friendly team who work collaboratively in a variety of areas, including, Waste Services, Linen Services, Equipment Delivery/Collection/Orderly/Porterage Services. You will be assisting our Loading Dock with cleaning
The purpose of this role is to uphold our exemplary hygiene standards by providing high level of care to our patients.
About you
To ensure our new team member can hit the ground running and contribute immediately, you will have significant experience in Ward/Orderly or previous hospital ward roles and you will be comfortable with manual handling/lifting. Food services and Administration experience are not necessary to perform the role.
We are looking for flexibility in your approach and willingness to contribute to the overall success of MPHS, an eager contributor who can prioritise and organise your personal workload, whilst assisting your team to achieve goals. As you will frequently be around patients, you will be an effective communicator with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
