The Mater Mothers’ Hospital Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)'s Refugee team currently has two roles available for a Registered Midwife in a Caseload Model of Care: 1 full-time permanent and 1 full-time fixed term contract for a minimum of 15 months. Both of these roles have the potential for FTE to be reduced to 0.8 for the right candidates.
Mater’s MGP Program enables women to receive continuity of care by a group of known midwives throughout their pregnancy, during birth and in the early weeks at home with a new baby. This model recognises the benefits of continuity of care and enables midwives to work flexibly and to their full scope of practice. Midwifery Group Practice at Mater is made up of 9 all-risk teams , within this larger group you will be part of a smaller team of 4 or 5 midwives providing dedicated continuity of care to a caseload of women.
This role requires an enthusiastic and dedicated midwife who understands the philosophy of continuity of midwifery care, to coordinate, assess, plan and implement care. It is a fantastic chance to become part of a well-established, highly skilled and professional multi-disciplinary team, utilising your enthusiasm and midwifery passion for the delivery of best practice within a supportive and professional environment. You will be working within the current Enterprise Agreement providing care on-call 24hrs a day, 5 days a week (pro rata) with protected days off and fatigue leave.
