About the role

Mater Mothers Hospitals Queensland are seeking a talented midwife, nurse, or allied health professional to step into a Clinical Specialty Coordinator position to help deliver our strategy for excellence. With women’s and newborn health services across 5 Queensland cities, this critical role will help establish and grow a network of aligned Mater People who are continually striving to be better.

Mater Mothers is an iconic health service and a recognised leader in healthcare outcomes, education, simulation, and research. Working in collaboration with medical, midwifery and nursing leaders, the Clinical Specialty Coordinator (CSC) will help in the adoption of new practice models, quality improvements, clinical practice reviews, and helping to grow the health business. We are looking for an innovative, driven, collaborative clinician to help ensure the delivery of high quality, low-variability, evidence-based care at each of our Mater Mothers Hospitals.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership experience and capability across the domains of clinical service delivery, healthcare leadership, research, education and service planning. 

This full-time permanent position is based in Brisbane but will require some travel to other Mater Mothers Hospitals in Queensland on a semi-regular basis.   

What you'll be doing

As the Clinical Specialty Coordinator (CSC) you will help lead the promotion of contemporary clinical practice, support research, education and continuous quality improvement, and facilitate the development of clinical and business services across the areas of Mater’s focus. This CSC role actively contributes to the the provision of high quality care at Mater, which involves a high level of engagement and collaboration with Mater services across Queensland. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Registration as a nurse, midwife or allied health professions without conditions, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience, and specifically in maternity, neonatology and/or gynaecology

Ideally you will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in healthcare leadership, education, or research
  • Experience in teaching, simulation
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills
