About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for a compassionate Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to work within our Perioperative Unit.

Positions are available in the following areas:

  • Scrub/Scout
  • Anaesthetics

There are permanent full-time, part time and casual positions and you must be available for all shift types including day, afternoon, after hours and on call. Education and training opportunities are available for the successful candidate.

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton's perioperative services comprise five operating rooms,  two day surgery rooms,  seven recovery bays and a central sterilising Unit. 

The Theatre Complex provides pre- and post-operative recovery room care and specialised endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. The surgical case mix includes orthopaedic, obstetric, gynecologic, ENT, oral, urology, paediatric, general, vascular, spinal and ophthalmic surgery.

Salary Range: $34.84 - $37.10 per hour (EN) plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging

What you'll be doing

As an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse within, you will provide patient-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty. Core responsibilities include supporting patients in the activities of daily living, assisting in meeting basic human needs, and recognising the normal and abnormal assessment, intervention and evaluation of patient health and functional status with ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse.  

About you

You will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment where you can become part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. Experience within theatre and anaesthetics is highly regarded. 

You will also:

  • Have current registration with AHPRA with no notations
  • Demonstrated nursing experience within a perioperative setting or have transferable skills in another acute area that can be developed with professional training
  • Be able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and recognise priority tasks
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a focus on exceptional patient-centred care and customer service
  • Digital and computer proficiency
  • You must be able to be rostered for day and afternoon shifts and after hour on call.
