About the role

Mater Health has an exciting position for an Occupational Therapist to join the team based at our Rockhampton campus in our Medical/Surgical unit. This will see you join a multifaceted service and we have permanent part-time and full-time options available.

Salary range: $38.25 - $ $57.80 (Health Professional 3) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging

What you’ll be doing

As an Occupational Therapist your expertise will be invaluable to the multidisciplinary team in the Rehabilitation Unit. We are open to experienced and novice Occupational Therapists.

You will work with Nursing staff, Visiting Medical Officers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Dietitians and Pharmacists to ensure best patient outcomes are achieved.

As an Occupational Therapist you are expected to provide exceptional service to adult patients and contributing to a multidisciplinary team, managing caseloads, measuring outcomes and displaying an ongoing dedication to continuous improvement. You will be expected to have a strong understanding of the requirements for contributing to a safe workplace in a hospital environment.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Knowledge, expertise and skill in assessment and management of patients with orthopaedic and neurological conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional occupational therapy clinical services of a complex nature, managing caseload priorities and discharge planning
  • Experience in Oedema management highly desirable.
  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (no restrictions)
  • Current drivers License essential
  • Membership of the OT Australia (desirable)
