About the role
Mater’s Digital Technology and Information Division is searching for a Digital Solution Architect to work on various solutions within our Digital Portfolio. This is a 20-month contract full-time role in a hybrid environment based in our Newstead Office.
Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Your understanding of health information and technical standards will be essential as we co-design digital solutions and integrations as part of a transformative drive to modernise our digital capabilities to meet the needs of evolving and essential health services.
- Provide strategic architectural assessment of product options and the integration layer
- Develop solution architectures using architecture development methods at pace and to quality
- Partner with planning and design functions during the planning, delivery, and transitioning stages of projects
- Proactively support Program Leadership, Architecture Leadership, and Project Management in building consensus, designing, and delivering quality products into healthcare settings
- Collaborate to identify and lead the mitigation of any technical gaps and risks
- Assist with defining the work packages required to deliver the products
- Assist Project Managers with developing a schedule outlining dependencies and sequencing of work packages
- Create and update architecture building blocks and patterns that derive from Solution Architectures
- Be a contributor to creating best practices by identifying reusable project-level assets
- Act as a feedback mechanism to the product groups and development teams on features and functionalities
- Build solid and well-respected relationships with peer levels in product groups
- Collaborate at a program level to ensure strategic alignment of solutions to business drivers
About you
We are on the search for a Solution Architect who has the following:
- Extensive knowledge of digital health systems, standards, and architecture practices
- Tertiary courses in information technology, information systems, business management, commerce, or corporate systems support are preferred but not essential
- Diploma in IT or a Diploma of Business Studies or equivalent work experience
- Advanced experience, knowledge, and skill in applying ITIL & TOGAF frameworks
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to all stakeholders, including non-technical stakeholders
- Modelling using Archibus or UML tools
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Extensive technical knowledge in the following:

- HL7 Standards
- In-depth understanding of information flows within a healthcare environment
- Enterprise IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures and solutions
- Hybrid Could models, including Data Centre infrastructure
- Enterprise networking including LAN \ WAN \ MPLS \ VPN
- Contemporary Cybersecurity controls and practices, including network layer
- Hyper-converged infrastructure environments, including VxRail, VMware, and Data Protection platforms
- Digital Workplace technologies
- Identity and Access Management (Internal, External, and Consumer)
- Database environments
- Enterprise middleware environments and integration (Rest API’s)
