About the role

Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an opportunity for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Medical Unit.  The successful applicant will be offered Permanent Part Time employment with flexibility from 24-32 hours a week contract.

This position will involve working 24/7 rotating rostered shifts including early, late, night and weekend shifts.

The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs. This includes obstetrics, ophthalmology and general medicine. The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses, Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients, carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.

Mater Nursing and Midwifery Enterprise Agreement Salary range: $41.47- $53.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater. Key duties and responsibilities will include:

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
  • Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience within an acute medical setting
  • High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
  • The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
  • Available to work across all shifts
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
