About the role

Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join the team on a fixed-term basis (Up to 12hrs p/w) based at Mater South Brisbane.

The purpose of the Senior Medical Officer (General Practitioner) Mater Refugee Complex Care Clinic position is to provide high-quality, evidence-informed medical care for patients attending the Mater Refugee Complex Care Clinic (MRCCC).

Salary range: $87.25 - $98.17 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation, relevant allowances and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Providing comprehensive general practice care for patients from a refugee background, including patients seeking asylum including:

  • Acute and chronic disease management
  • Health assessments
  • Mental health care
  • Preventative health care
  • Health promotion and care coordination
  • Health literacy and patient advocacy
  • Maintain effective communication with the clinic team, including medical, nursing and administrative staff
  • Comply with human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, infection control and clinical documentation and handover

About you

  • Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA)
  • FRACGP qualification
