About the role

The Mater Health Physiotherapy Department is looking for a new Physiotherapist to join our Mothers, Women’s and Pelvic Health team. The successful applicant will be offered an 8 month fixed term contract, where you will work full time (38 hours/week) at the South Brisbane campus.

As a member of the Mothers, Women’s & Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team, you will provide patient centred, evidence based clinical care in various caseloads such as; the area of antenatal and postnatal care, in an inpatient, outpatient, and group education setting.  This will include caring for women with obstetric, musculo-skeletal and pelvic health concerns.

Please note this role will also involve weekend and evening class rosters as required.

Salary range: $41.87-$57.80 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you'll be doing.

Typical tasks of the role include:

  • Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols at Mater Mothers Hospitals
  • Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
  • Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
  • Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies 
  • You maybe required to work across different Mater facilities, services and/or sites as required by the organisation

About you

You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council with post graduate training and experience in Obstetrics, Women’s and Pelvic Health. You will also meet the below criteria:

  • Broad physiotherapy clinical experience in the area of obstetrics and gynaecology, with demonstrated application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
  • A strong foundation of knowledge and skills in the area of Pelvic Health assessment and management and a commitment to further progressing skills in this area
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in the outpatient setting with a varied caseload
  • Demonstrated skill or ability to rapidly acquire skill in private obstetric and pelvic health care, with a commitment to service and business development in the area.
  • Attributes that align with our Department Values including: Being solutions focused, displaying resilience but flexibility, and demonstrating a positive attitude in all encounters.
  • Commitment to participation in the 7 day and/or out of hours service.
  • Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with profession and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire skills to identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical services and patient outcomes
