About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg are looking for a Central Sterilising Supply Department Technician to join the team on a permanent part-time  or casual basis. 

The CSSD Technician works within the Central Sterilising Supply Department and is responsible for the cleaning, assembly, inspection, wrapping and sterilisation of surgical instruments and medical equipment in a manner compliant and timely manner that are congruent with the operations of the Hospital, particularly those pertaining to perioperative services.

Salary range: $35.53 - $36.65  per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Process instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and guidelines;
  • Adhere to sterilisation practices in accordance with current Australian Sterilisation Standard AS5369
  • Participate in the continuous monitoring of service quality and compliance;
  • Adhere to documentation requirements in accordance with Australian Standard and Mater guidelines;
  • Operate equipment safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions, maintaining and updating performance records as required;
  • Undertake testing of equipment as required and promptly escalate any identified anomalies to the appropriate facility authority and/or resource; and
  • Undertake assigned tasks associated with the end-to-end sterilisation process
  • Accept and adhere to all policies and procedures of Mater and your employment location; and
  • Undertake other duties/responsibilities as directed by your direct Reporting Authority or other designated authority(s).

About you
To be successful within the team you will have:

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or commitment to attain;
  • Previous experience in clinical sterilisation processing (desired)
