About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Enrolled Nurse / Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join the Day Surgery/Endoscopy Unit. This position will be offered on a permanent part-time. 

Applicants must be willing to undergo training in Endoscopy, Procedures, and Anesthetics.

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.

Salary range: $35.88 - $38.21(EN) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
• Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
• Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
• Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
• Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
• Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
• Ensure confidentiality of corporate and patient information

About you

To be successful in your application you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (no restrictions)

• Recent nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (at least 1-year post-graduate experience)
• Previous experience within a pre and post-operative nursing care in an acute setting is highly desirable
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
• The ability to work well autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
