About the role
Join our team as a Category & Contract Specialist - Medical & Surgical in this permanent full-time position based at Newstead.
You will drive value for money through implementing best practice procurement methodologies and play a crucial role in establishing and executing the vision and objectives for the category. With your expertise, you will ensure compliance with industry standards and Mater's requirements, while providing technical input into contract formation.
Salary range: $99,810 - $108,603 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Drive development and implementation of Medical & Surgical category and contract strategies for value optimisation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and industry developments for effective category management
- Provide timely procurement support across various categories following Mater Procurement Policies and Procedures
- Implement and manage procurement and contract systems for accurate data collection and reporting
- Assist in developing and executing benefits realisation plans, reporting progress regularly
- Support contract negotiation and execution, ensuring alignment with Mater priorities and value
- Contribute to industry-facing engagement plans, fostering innovation and adapting strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including effective supplier management strategies
About you
- Relevant procurement or business qualification/certification, desired
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing spend categories, applying category and contract management processes and developing sourcing strategies
- Proven track record in identifying and implementing initiatives to improve value for money
- Strong capability in managing complex customer and supplier issues, including performance management and contract compliance
- Successful experience in leading high complexity and high-value end-to-end procurement activities
