About the role

Mater Group are seeking a dynamic and strategic Procurement Business Partner to join our team in a full time, 12-month contract with potential for extension based at Newstead.

Reporting to the Procurement Centre of Excellence Lead, you will be part of our Centre-led Project Team, driving relationships with Mater departments, participating in the development of procurement strategy and standards, identifying opportunities for category performance improvement and cost savings and addressing challenges across the value chain.

Salary range: Commensurate with experience per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide expert procurement advice and support across procurement, category, and contract activities, ensuring compliance with Mater procurement standards and processes
  • Identify and communicate trends and improvement opportunities, developing implementation initiatives
  • Assess and address procurement-related risks in alignment with business goals
  • Analyse the procurement pipeline and initiatives, identifying key improvement opportunities and presenting insights at Branch/Area Leadership Meetings
  • Offer strategic guidance to the business on procurement, category and contract best practices, promoting procurement and contract literacy
  • Lead and manage low-value, low-risk end-to-end tendering processes, adhering to established policies, procedures and probity principles

About you

  • Relevant procurement or business qualification/certification, desirable
  • Extensive experience in business partnering within a large and complex organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines, anticipating problems, and finding effective solutions
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including consultation, facilitation, conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and understandable manner to a diverse range of stakeholders
