About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to work across Inpatient and Day Unit within Mater Children’s Private Hospital. This role will be offered on a permanent full time basis.
Salary range: $71.42 - $76.81 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the nursing team in the paediatric unit
- Oversee and manage the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Develop and implement nursing protocols and standards of practice that promote excellence in paediatric care
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among nursing staff
- Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient workflow
- Act as a liaison between the nursing team, medical staff, and other departments within the hospital
- Monitor and evaluate nursing performance and provide regular feedback to promote continuous improvement
- Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing staff
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Review and update policies when required
About you
You will be an experienced leader and will drive innovation in your field; using evidence-based research to suggest new ways of doing things and take a positive and adaptive approach to embedding change.
- Other skills and responsibilities include:
- Extensive experience in Paediatric Care with sound clinical expertise & leadership
- Current AHPRA Nursing registration
- Post graduate qualification in paediatrics
- Ability to demonstrate strong capability in leading both the clinical and commercial aspects of a tertiary service.
- High level communication skills within a multidisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated competence in cost centre management.
