About the role
Mater’s Engineering and Maintenance team are searching for an experienced Electrician. The position is permanent, full-time based at South Brisbane.
The Electrician will carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to Mater Health Services facilities as directed by the Electrical Trades Manager or relevant delegate in order to maintain the Mater facilities in a safe and well-presented condition ensuring all work is performed in a timely, cost-effective manner to prescribed quality standards and to meet customer needs.
Salary range: $39.90 - $46.00 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Promote the mission, philosophy and values of Mater Health Services. The responsibilities of the Electrician will include (but not limited to):
- Maintain regular communication with Trade Group Manager and Trade Coordinator to address daily work plan and activities
- Contribute to the planning and development of maintenance and renovation programs for MHS facilities
- Provide guidance on preferred maintenance practices based on trade and technical knowledge
- Assist in the quotation process for required work
- Manage stock levels and ordering as needed
- Utilise technical skills to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of work
- Support apprentices through technical guidance and supervision
- Collaborate with workshop team members and other trades to ensure successful completion of multi-trade tasks
- Provide 24hour maintenance service by participating in on-call roster as may be required
- Comply with the requirements of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviour in the work environment
About you
The successful application will require the following:
- Certificate 3 Electrical Fitter / Mechanic qualifications
- An understanding of Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare Legislation and Regulations pertaining to Electrical
- Demonstrated experience in building electrical maintenance
- Hold a current “C” Class Motor Driver’s Licence
- To demonstrate willingness to commit to the mission, philosophy and values of the congregation of the Sister of Mercy
