About the role

Join Mater’s Procurement team as a full-time permanent Category & Contract Analyst and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with procurement governance and contracting processes.

Utilising your category-specific knowledge, you'll guarantee compliance with Mater's requirements and industry standards. Your technical input into contract formation and strategic contracts will ensure adherence to policies and legislation. Develop and implement innovative category strategies, oversee contract management, and provide surge support to the Strategic Sourcing Team during high-demand periods.

Salary range: $85,878 - $94,618 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As part of our Centre-led team, you will establish and execute the vision and objectives for your category, maximizing value for money through prioritising initiatives. Typical duties of the role will include:

  • Provide support and input to category plans and sourcing strategies to increase value for money and meet business objectives
  • Develop and maintain category-specific knowledge to ensure compliance with organisational requirements, industry best practices and standards
  • Assist the strategic sourcing team with end-to-end procurement activities during high-demand periods
  • Maintain accurate record management systems for purchasing and administration
  • Ensure compliance with contract management system across contracts and service agreements
  • Provide advice on contract requirements and service/supply issues to the Category Management team, business and suppliers
  • Support the preparation of new, renewed, or updated contracts, including necessary approval documents
  • Continuously develop professional expertise and share knowledge with leaders and peers

About you

As our new Category & Contract Analyst we are searching for candidates who have:

  • A relevant procurement or business qualification / certification is highly desired
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, category and contract management within a large, complex and diverse organisation, including tender development and evaluation
  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary procurement, category, and contract management practices, relevant regulations and delivering high-quality customer services
  • Supplier engagement experience, including identifying performance issues, providing constructive feedback and supporting the resolution of minor contract issues
  • Proficiency in using e-procurement and contract management systems, including reporting and pipeline management
