About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville are currently seeking an experienced Ward Clerk to join their Patient Services team on a casual basis. This role will be supporting our ICU Unit, with work hours between 7am and 3:30pm Thursday & Friday, with further leave coverage opportunities available.
The Patient Services team captures, tracks and reports all patient data from pre-admission to discharge aligned with health information standards, health fund and public patient revenue regulations. This information is analysed and reported to stakeholders to guide the utilisation and efficiency of our hospital services and supports business development decisions with recommendations for process improvement and revenue maximisation.
Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour plus superannuation plus 24% casual loading and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Ward Clerk / Receptionist you will work within an interdisciplinary team environment and is responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely provision of a range of administrative services. Tasks may include but are not limited to; patient admission, discharges and transfers; medical record preparation, tracking, filing and maintenance; assisting with patient billing; wayfinding and general enquiries.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment.
- Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills as well as familiarity with patient administration systems.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with speed, efficiency and accuracy under pressure.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Availability for an immediate start is highly desirable
