About the role
Mater is currently looking for a Coordinator – Communications and Engagement to join our Corporate Affairs team in this full time, permanent opportunity.
Join a team of passionate communication, marketing and media professionals, promoting the work of one of Queensland’s leading healthcare, education and research organisations. The role can be based in Brisbane or Townsville with the successful candidate able to travel regularly between Mater’s regional hospitals.
Salary range: $76,962 - $85,590 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This role will include producing highly developed communications and marketing activities for Mater and its network of hospitals to support the organisation’s strategic business and objectives. The duties will include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to support Mater and its network of hospitals in achieving their strategic goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for local communication needs and activities for Mater hospitals in North and Central Queensland
- Oversee the management of websites and social media platforms in alignment with Mater's online and social media strategy
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Affairs team and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders in all Mater regional locations
- Provide strategic marketing and communication advice to local executives, senior staff, and colleagues, with the guidance and support of the Corporate Affairs team and your Manager
- Initiate and drive local initiatives and continuously improve the effectiveness of all activities
- Manage local projects, events, and campaigns within budget and designated timelines
- Work in collaboration with local colleagues to promote the integration of Mater Health, Mater Education, Mater Research, and Mater Foundation
- Support the Executive Director, Corporate Affairs in achieving the organisation's strategic and operational objectives
- Willingness to travel regularly to various Mater locations in Queensland to provide support to local teams
About you
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations (or relevant experience in communications). You will also have:
- Five years’ minimum experience in a role with exposure to complex group environments
- Ability to work independently, with support from the broader Corporate Affairs team
- Highly developed writing and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of current marketing and communication principles and industry trends
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful brand and marketing strategies to achieve organisational objectives
- Proficiency in managing brand assets, digital asset management systems and digital platforms
- Willingness to work after hours and be on call, if required
- Experience working with professionals in a fast-paced service delivery environment
- Familiarity with the healthcare sector is highly desirable
