Mater’s Insurance Services and Medico Legal functions are looking for a Administration Support Officer to join the team. Based between Mater Newstead or South Brisbane locations, this permanent, part-time role (30.4 hours per week), the core function of the role is to provide the Director of Insurance Services and Legal Counsel – Medico Legal with a high level of administrative support. 

Salary range: $38.81- $43.16 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing

The Insurance Services portfolio is responsible for coordinating the placement of insurance cover across the organisation in addition to the management of insurance claims, emergency response and business continuity planning and the management of fraud.  

The Medico Legal function provides a wide range of legal services across the organisation. 

Some of the key responsibilities will be to provide administrative support with the insurance renewal preparations and presentations to insurers and key stakeholders, in addition to the claims, emergency response and business continuity management portfolios. 

The role also includes the preparation and dissemination of relevant material, and to liaise on behalf of the Legal Counsel – Medico Legal with a range of Hospital employees at all levels, as well as external stakeholders including statutory bodies.  

About you

You will have intermediate Microsoft package skills. You will meet the below criteria:

  • Experience using Health Information Systems.
  • The ability to balance conflicting demands within tight timeframes.
  • Ability to maintain composure and positivity in times of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening and decision making skills
  • Deliver a patient centric approach and have a passion for delivering an exceptional experience.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Have a naturally inquisitive nature and drive to understand processes and systems.
  • Display strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyse information to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Proven experience working in a team within the Medical/Healthcare profession (desirable).
