Mater Health is looking for a Principal Medical Education Officer to join out Medical Education and Workforce Services team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our South Brisbane campus.
Salary range: $137,561 - $147,627 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Principal Medical Education Officer (PMEO) will:

- Provide educational expertise to Medical Education and Workforce Services
- Ensure the maintenance of high standards within Mater’s educational program for prevocational medical officers
- Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and requirements.
- Provide high level, expert and strategic advice on key prevocational medical training, and education issues to the Director Clinical Training, Director of Medical Education, Directors of Medical Services and Executive Officers
- Support the Director Medical Education and Workforce Services to manage the relationships with Queensland Health Hospitals and Health Services medical education units where required
About you
You will have previous experience as Principal Medical Education officer role or equivalent and tertiary qualifications in teaching (clinical teaching) or education or similar. You will also meet the below criteria:
- High level communication and liaison skills with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of understanding of the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training as accredited by Prevocational Medical Accreditation Queensland (PMAQ), the Medical Board of Australia’s Registration Standard and the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors
- High level systems and ICT capability
- Strong team management skills and ability to lead by example
- Proficiency in service improvement methodologies
- Ability to think creatively to solve problems, create new opportunities and implement change
- Leadership of projects and change delivery in a multidisciplinary environment
- High level of experience working with the full Microsoft Suite of software
