About the role
The Mater Advocacy and Protection Unit (MAP Unit) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Officer to join the team on a Maximum term 12-month contract working 38 hours per week based at our South Brisbane campus.
Driving statewide improvements in safeguarding vulnerable populations, this pivotal role will lead the development and implementation of a statewide best-practice, trauma-informed model of care for Mater’s integrated Child Protection, Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) including elder abuse, and sexual assault services.
You will be contributing to big picture innovation by establishing a Centre of Excellence model that shapes the future of service delivery for vulnerable populations. You will be instrumental in developing this model through mapping statewide clinical processes, developing clinical pathways and workflows, and designing integrated data and reporting systems. Working collaboratively across sites, you'll ensure these services align with national safeguarding standards and create safe, responsive environments for those at-risk.
(HP4) Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This role is responsible for the development of the model of care for Mater’s integrated Child Protection, Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) including elder abuse, and sexual assault services with the goal of establishing of a Centre of Excellence in advocacy, research, and clinical service delivery for these vulnerable populations. Tasks include to:
Coordinate, deliver and collaborate in the development and provision of contemporary, integrated and evidence-based service delivery in the areas of Child Protection, DFV, elder abuse, sexual assault and safeguarding.
Conduct needs assessments, service mapping, and stakeholder consultations to inform the integrated model and safeguarding standards.
Operationalise statewide policies and procedures regarding responding and reporting abuse concerns through leading the development of processes, referral pathways, and workflows for the integrated service in line with safeguarding requirements.
Develop clear processes for standardising documentation and storing of records associated with Child Protection and DFV legislative requirements for Health Information Management.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a range of clinical areas to establish best practices in integrated service delivery.
Benchmark models of care develop an innovative, contemporary and integrated service delivery in advocacy and protection services.
Develop and implement a detailed project plan aligned with Mater Health’s strategic priorities
Track project milestones and risks to ensure timely and effective delivery
Identify and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in order to establish strong partnerships that enable achievement of project aims
Use of high level interpersonal and communications skills to advocate, negotiate, and consult effectively with internal and external key stakeholders to achieve project aims
Record and report data relevant to project outcomes including reviewing current data collection systems
Engage in continuous project evaluation and review of performance targets
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Health Practitioner OR eligibility for membership with the relevant allied health professional association (as appropriate)
OR current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse with Midwife Registration
Experience in provision of services to vulnerable and complex populations including child protection and DFV desirable, but not mandatory
Demonstrated knowledge in safeguarding standards, principles and practices
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management, service development, or policy implementation, preferably in health or social services, including service mapping and development of clinical processes and pathways
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills evidenced through an ability consult effectively with key stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes
Demonstrated ability to develop high quality written documents relevant to the role, interpret service data and employ health informatics knowledge to guide clinical systems and processes
Highly developed organisation skills with the ability to set priorities, manage competing priorities, coordinate activities and monitor and report on the effectiveness of strategies and projects to management
Ability to lead change through improvement activities in a complex environment
