About the role
The Hotel Services Team are currently seeking an experienced Chef / Food Services Coordinator to join their team on a Permanent Full-Time basis. This position is based working out of the Pimlico campus where you will work a 38-hour work week Monday – Friday.
Hotel Services are focused on patient experience and through the Food Service Team are committed to maintaining a high standard of food which follows strict dietary requirements service schedules, and food handling in accordance with industry’s health standards, as well as the maintenance of cleanliness of equipment in work related areas. The Food Service coordinator will also be responsible for the general operation and supervision of the department.
Salary range: $41.60 - $45.81 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Food Service Coordinator, your accountabilities will be:
- Facilitates the provision of safe, effective food preparation and service within the department by promoting an environment which supports self-accountability and responsibility for effective practices in preparation and service
- Training employees, planning, rostering/assigning, and directing work
- Appraising performance, addressing complaints with the Food service manager in resolving problems.
- Liaise with key stake holders and customers to identify their needs and expectations.
- Work with Food Service Manager to effectively coordinate and provide safe practice of food.
- Maintain the stock rotation and quality of goods received
- Respond to complaints in a timely, constructive and customer focused manner.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A high level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and advance ability to communicate challenging information constructively.
- Provide trade qualifications in professional cookery
- Demonstrated people management and leadership, and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and contributing to sustainable business outcomes, while ensuring priority and focus on patient-experience and patient-outcomes.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and judgement in a fast-paced environment, and with multiple priorities.
- Experience leading a commercial kitchen in a highly regulated / strong policy industry would be an advantage.
