About the role
Mater Private Hospital’s Perioperative team are looking for experienced Registered Nurses who are wanting to gain further leadership experience in the Urology Clinical Nurse role. This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, 38 hours per week.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide a mentorship and guiding aspect to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager’s in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Perioperative department and assist with skill development.
Responsibilities include (not limited to specific CN role tasks):
- D365 ordering of specialty equipment
- Oversee & receive feedback for product trials
- Support & mentor graduates, novices and new staff
- Daily co-ordinating of theatres and assisting with staffing
- Support upskilling of staff in specialty areas
- Assist with ERIC reviews
- Follow up repairs and damaged equipment
- Liaise with VMO’s and company reps regarding requests and equipment requirements
- Compilation and monitoring of capex lists
- Quality and safety activities and attendance at relevant meetings
- Accreditation and auditing preparation and completion
- Assist Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager’s
- Flexibility across shifts to support skill mix and patient acuity
About you
The successful applicant must have the following:
- Minimum 2.5yrs experience in Perioperative area specific to role applying for
- Strong knowledge of ACORN & NSQHS Standards
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated effective communication and conflict resolution skills
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
- Current experience with mentoring and preceptoring
- Current theatre co-ordinator experience
- Desirable- Current experience with confluence
- Desirable- current or previous CN experience
- Desirable- Post graduate qualification certificate
