About the role
Mater Health is looking for a Eat Walk Engage Facilitator to join our team. Joining our wider Allied Health team, this permanent, part-time (15.2 hours per week) role is based at our South Brisbane campus.
Salary: Commensurate with experience (RN2 or HP4) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation of Eat Walk Engage at Mater Hospital Brisbane by facilitating the implementation of initiatives that will reduce delirium for older inpatients. This will be achieved by providing expertise in clinical service delivery, project management and project coordination, education and training, and stakeholder engagement, as well as liaison and negotiation at all levels of the hospital.
You will be supported by the current Eat Walk Engage Facilitator and report to the Leading Facilitation Team from Metro North (Queensland Health) and under the direction of the Allied Health Director.
About you
You will have a current and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. As an Allied Health Professional you will need current and unrestricted AHPRA registration or eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Experience in the clinical care of elderly and/or frail patients in the acute setting.
- Demonstrated interest in the care of older persons, particularly in relation to improving quality of life and health outcomes.
- Extensive experience working with older persons including, a strong knowledge of older person friendly health care principles and experience promoting and implementing quality improvement initiatives focused on improving outcomes for frail older persons.
- Ability to lead and direct multidisciplinary meetings and committees to promote the aims and objectives of the Eat Walk Engage program.
- Experience providing supervision and training to more junior staff members to support them to work effectively with patients and within the multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to professional development and ability to identify the educational needs of multi-disciplinary team and coordinate tailored training opportunities.
- Strong skills in communication, leadership and service delivery in the clinical setting.
- Experience in (or willingness to learn) data collection, auditing and reporting to guide quality improvement.
- Competent digital skills in relation to the Microsoft suite of applications, including the development of spreadsheets.
