About the role
Mater Mother’s Hospital is excited to be offering a talented General Practitioner for our Pregnancy Assessment Centre (PAC) in a permanent Part-Time basis at our South Brisbane Campus.
The Pregnancy Assessment Centre (PAC) cares for women presenting with acute concerns, or high-risk conditions requiring monitoring, at any gestation of pregnancy and up to 6 weeks post-partum. You will provide care to women attending the PAC, supported by Obstetricians, Obstetric and Emergency Medicine Registrars, Midwives, Specialist Early Pregnancy Nurses, Maternal-fetal Medicine specialists and Obstetric Physicians
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
These accountabilities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Assess and manage women presenting with high-risk conditions or complications of pregnancy up to 6 weeks post-partum
- Provide compassionate care to meet the clinical and emotional needs of women and families
- Ensure responsible stewardship of resources by ensuring streamlined assessment and management to reduce women’s length of stay in PAC
- Communicate effectively with women, families, primary care providers and the multiprofessional team to ensure care provided is holistic
- Contribute to Maters’ GP alignment program, supported by the program lead.
- Accept, adhere to and promote workplace safety in accordance with the relevant legislation, standards, policies, procedures and frameworks that promote ‘zero harm’ to Mater People and ‘zero preventable harm’ for patients;
- Participate in creating an environment that strives for customer satisfaction;
- Participate in meetings and forums as required;
- Foster a collaborative work environment and maintain open communication through effective interpersonal skills and appropriate forums;
- Participate in and recommend quality activities aiming to improve work practices to exceed customer expectations;
- Fulfil required corporate, mandatory and other education and/or professional development and competency requirements within stipulated timelines;
- Accept individual responsibility and accountability for own performance and professional development;
- Accept and adhere to all policies and procedures of Mater and your employment location; and
- Undertake other duties/responsibilities as directed by your direct Reporting Authority or other designated authority(s).
About you
Mandatory
- GP with a special interest in maternity care, who has obtained a Diploma of O&G or a Certificate of Women’s’ health from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (or equivalent).
Desired
- The successful candidate will ideally have current and future experience of participating in GP share care with Mater (as a GP)
