About the role

Queensland Cord Blood Bank At the Mater (QCBB) is looking for a Medical Scientist to join the team. This permanent, full-time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59per hour (commensurate with experience) plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

You will perform the daily operational requirements of QCBB processing with respect to the manufacture and processing, storage, and transport of cord blood products and associated samples, record keeping and data management in order to produce and supply a product of the highest quality in accordance with the QCBB policies and procedures, principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, Applicable Law and the applicable international standards for cord blood banking in order to maintain licensing with the TGA and accreditation with FACT.

About you

  • You must hold the minimum of a Bachelor of Applied Science/ Science or equivalent
  • Demonstrated professional competence in Haematology
  • Experience in the laboratory aspects of cord blood banking, stem cell transplantation or a similar manufacturing environment are also highly regarded.
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to critically evaluate results.
