About the role

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Officer to join the team in a permanent, full-time basis

The purpose of the Inventory Control Officer role is to provide oversight of inventory and imprest management within the delivery of supply chain operations to the procedural areas within Mater Rockhampton.

Supply Chain Operations works with a one team approach to delivering services, and all team members are expected to participate in activities which support improvement and change in the delivery of regional supply chain services including purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, imprest management and customer service.

Salary range: $76,963 - $85,591 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Primary responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Ensure accurate and high-quality inventory control for theatre operations at Mater
  • Process documentation in D365 and other systems for inventory consumption and cost recovery
  • Purchase inventory items as required to support Mater Central Purchasing team
  • Conduct regular stocktaking and resolve any discrepancies in Mater owned and vendor inventory
  • Analyse and make recommendations to prevent overstocking and financial adjustments
  • Participate in process improvement activities for imprest management
  • Support seamless customer service and collaborate on issue resolution within Supply Chain Operations

About you

To be successful in your application, you will have the following:

  • Diploma in Purchasing or Inventory Management preferred but not required
  • Experience in inventory control in a large organisation
  • Healthcare inventory control experience, desirable
  • Knowledge of inventory management platforms is necessary
  • Experience in imprest management processes preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and IT skills required
  • Understanding of procurement and purchasing processes preferred
  • Proactive in monitoring and communicating inventory issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to meet client expectations
