About the role
The Car Park Attendant role is to provide service to patients, visitors and staff who utilise our car parks by way of friendly informative customer interactions, fast and accurate financial transactions, and clean and fully functional equipment and premises. The role oversees the daily upkeep of equipment to ensuring that the visitor experience is seamless and without incident.
About Mater Car Parks
Mater Car Parks offer approximately 3500 spaces across the South Brisbane campus to accommodate the requirement for parking for patients, visitors and staff who are accessing our facilities. These multi-level car parks are automated, which means patrons are required to pre-pay for parking prior to exiting, with several pay stations positioned at prominent locations for ease of use.
Salary: $31.24- $33.68 (Operational Officer Level 2) per hour plus 23% casual loading + superannuation + access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
While ensuring the visitor experience is seamless and without incident, the main duties of this position will include:
- Ensure the ability of visitors and staff to pay for their parking
- Processing daily parking charges for visitors and staff
- Use EFTPOS Machines and cash handling and monitor the Credit Card facilities
- Explain and inform visitors of the various pricing options available and sell a variety of ticket options
- Empty and fill the Automatic Pay Stations as required
- Complete all cashiering procedures as outlined in the operations manual
- Inspect all equipment to ensure it is in working order and ensure an adequate supply of tickets in the ticket machines
- Respond to breakdowns of equipment, and fix the problem if possible
- Contact maintenance service providers to arrange any repairs necessary
- Ensure all cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning checklist are completed in a timely and thorough manner to maintain a clean work environment
- Enter any maintenance required to be done by other Mater departments into the appropriate reporting mechanism
- Keep the log book in the Customer Service Centre up to date with any activities in the car park
- Provide directions to visitors to the various departments, wards and businesses on the Mater campus
- Undertake other duties within the scope of your skills, competence and training as directed
About you
You will be a customer service professional with experience in a similar role within a busy environment. You will have an in-depth knowledge and/or mechanical understanding to be able to troubleshoot when required, ensuring the customer experience is a positive and inviting one.
Please note this is not a security role and is not a full-time role.
Essential
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a retail environment preferably car park operation
Desired qualifications
- Prior Customer Service experience in high volume
- Experience in Car Park operational systems desirable
- Cash handling experience
- Proficient in use of computers and electronic task management systems
