About the role

Mater Mother’s Hospital is Australia’s largest maternity service, and we are looking for a talented Registrar from September 2025 on a full time, maximum term basis until February 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Registrar/ PHO to join the team at Mater Mother’s Hospital, for the remainder of the training year.  The position offers supported exposure to general and high risk antenatal and intrapartum care as well as comprehensive general gynaecology and specialized areas of practice that include colposcopy and advanced laparoscopic surgery.  Non-training registrars of appropriate clinical experience will also be considered for this position.  This role also provides interested candidates an opportunity to participate in the Mater Flying O&G Service, comprising week-long gynaecology-focussed rotations delivering care to rural and regional Queensland. 

Salary range: $65.53 -$91.80 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You will be rotating through various aspects of tertiary-level antenatal and intrapartum care, as well as training in Queensland’s busiest general gynaecology unit, providing ample opportunity to complete training requirement.

The Mater has a world leading on site education and simulation service. Mater Mothers’ prides itself on its focus on your training and education with 6 hours of rostered education time per fortnight.  Mater Mothers’ is known for its’ innovative healthcare delivery models and commitment to continuous improvement via audit and research programs.   As the successful applicant you will be expected to be actively involved in these activities.

About you

We are seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Registrar (or experienced non-training registrar) who is looking to build upon their skills in general obstetrics and gynaecology.

Registration as a medical practitioner without conditions, with the Medical Board of Queensland. In approved circumstances, eligibility for registration, with conditions, as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Queensland which must be produced at the commencement of employment
