About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg, has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional Health Records Scanning Officer to join the team! This is a 12 month Maximum Part-time contract working 19 hours per week. This opportunity based at our Bundaberg campus where we will see you manage the processing and scanning of clinical documentation.
Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 (MCA2) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Accurately and efficiently complete tasks associated with scanning of paper health record documentation into the Health Record Scanning system (preparing, scanning, indexing and review)
- Maintain the integrity, confidentiality and security of medical records by adhering to relevant procedures for the management of medical records
- Comply with procedural requirements and systems to ensure Medical Records are readily located and accessible to authorised personnel, Medical Officers and other parties who may be legally entitled
- Work to volume of work and quality targets, ensuring they are met
- Utilise electronic and hard-copy information and filing systems
- Provide training, feedback, advice, guidance and support to hospital staff and volunteers working in the Medical Records File Room
- Perform sorting, identification and filing of medical records
- Coordinate and undertake the archiving, culling and destruction of medical records utilising the electronic file tracking system, in accordance with relevant legislative and procedural requirements
About you
Ideally you will be a process orientated person who is looking for a fast-paced environment. You will also have:
- Experience working in a health care environment is desirable
- Ability to quickly learn different computer applications or Prior experience in working with electronic health records (desired)
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks accurately at required volume and within timeframes
- Understanding of patient confidentiality
- You enjoy working within a team environment and comfortable to work autonomously when required
