About the role

Mater Hospital Infusions Centre is currently searching for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent part time basis, 24 hours per week.

In this role, you will be working in the Day Infusions Unit, helping with Team Leading,  coordinating patient flow, assessments of patients, administering infusions, education, and discharge planning of patients within the unit. You will be working 3 days per week set shifts – Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday. Week 2: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

A typical week in this role is patient centred, uses clinical problem solving, adopts effective communication and time management, manages up to date clinical notes and scheduling information and contributes to multidisciplinary teamwork.

Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

This role will see your responsibilities in assisting and supporting Nurse Unit Manager and nursing team, in agreed leadership and clinical functions within a specified area, including operational management functions of human and material resources relevant to the speciality. As a Clinical Nurse you are also required to initiate problem solving skills, participate in education and staff development, contribute strongly to the quality/accreditation process and ultimately aim at improving patient care outcomes relevant to their clinical area. 

About you

The successful candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. You will be approachable with a mature and confident attitude, can work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team. 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Minimum of two years full time equivalent clinical experience in area
  • Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and share knowledge with less experienced staff
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills

While not essential, applicants who currently have or are studying towards a tertiary qualification within this clinical speciality would be highly regarded.
