Catherine’s House is a world-class, perinatal, and infant mental health integrated model of care, providing both inpatient and outpatient services to public and private consumers.
Catherine’s House has a number of exciting opportunities for registered psychologists in a variety of fixed term contracts, from 0.4 FTE to 0.8FTE in the inpatient and outpatient teams.
The inpatient unit is a state-wide unit that provides acute infant and perinatal mental health assessment and treatment to mothers with significant mental illnesses who are co-admitted with their baby under one year old. There are 8 public beds and 2 private beds, with 2 of these beds having capacity to be a high dependency unit.
The outpatient services provide a range of mental health interventions in the perinatal period to birthing and non birthing parents.
Catherine’s House also has specialist consulting suites, with clinicians having the option to lease rooms on a sessional basis as a private practitioner.
What you’ll be doing
As a Perinatal Psychologist your role will include
- Deliver high-quality psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment to birthing and non-birthing parents across the perinatal period.
- Provide care in both inpatient (mother-baby unit) and outpatient settings, depending on the role.
- Support early parent infant relationships and attachment through individual and dyadic interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including suicide and self-harm, domestic and family violence (DFV), and child protection concerns, and contribute to the development of appropriate safety and care plans.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed, person centred, coordinated care
- Contribute to care planning, clinical reviews, and professional development activities.
About you
The successful candidate is required to hold current general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Mandatory
- Demonstrated clinical practice with focus on evidence-based, patient-centred care
- Strong communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in perinatal mental health
- Experience in delivering group programs, including Circle of Security
- Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical, Health, or Educational & Developmental Psychology
- Working towards or attained PsyBA Board Approved Supervisor
