About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking an experienced Acute Senior Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health team. The successful applicant will secure a 12-month contract – maternity leave backfill (with possibility for extension) where you will work 38 hours a week.
Our Allied Health team operate out of both our Pimlico and Hyde Park campus, where you will be working as acute team leader across wards. Inpatient caseload may include; orthopaedics, surgical, intensive care, cardiothoracic care and medical units.
Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 (HP Level 4) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
- Deliver consistently high-level evidence-based physiotherapy, with a high degree of independence according to prescribed professional and ethical standards.
- Provide and promote Physiotherapy services that are effective and innovative that advance patient health outcomes and enhance patient access to quality physiotherapy services.
- Contribute to the enhancement / modification of existing services based on the most up to date evidence.
- Efficiently and effectively optimise patient outcomes to support the multidisciplinary continuum of care within respiratory clinics, ward and referring into rehabilitation and outpatient settings.
- Initiate, participate in and provide professional development activities to promote a learning culture within the team.
- Contribute to the clinical supervision of students and mentoring of less experienced team members in both routine and non-routine clinical conditions.
About you
Along with at least three years’ experience, knowledge and expertise as a physiotherapist with significant post graduate experience in treating patients in an acute inpatient setting, the successful applicant will possess:
- A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council
- Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
- At least three years’ experience, knowledge and expertise as a physiotherapist with a significant proportion of this spent treating patients in an inpatient hospital setting
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team and provide patient centred care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional physiotherapy clinical services of a complex nature, manage a varying caseload from day to day and provide relevant clinical handover.
- Vestibular system assessment and management competency is highly desirable
- Post graduate in leadership desirable not essential, experience in hospital leadership desirable, not essential.
