About the role
Mater’s Supply Chain Operations are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Stores Person to join the team! This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Mater Private Hospital - Townsville.
Reporting into the Regional Coordinator - Supply Chain Operations, the Stores Person role involves managing general and medical consumable stock across all Units and Departments within the Mater Private Hospital - Townsville.
Salary range: $34.02 - $35.66 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Responsibilities include handling tasks such as receiving, dispatching, unpacking, storing, delivering, and controlling waste within the Purchasing Department.
- Maintain general and medical consumable stock in all Hospital Units and Departments using electronic imprest and IRA systems
- Communicate any stock-related issues to Purchasing and Operations Manager
- Demonstrate accuracy and accountability in stock control
- Exhibit strong time management and customer service skills
- Assist with various procedures in the Purchasing Department, including receiving, dispatching, unpacking, storage, delivery, and waste control
- Maintain cleaning records and follow guidelines for stock rotation as per industry standards
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safe practices
About you
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in stock/inventory control, demonstrating a strong understanding of managing and maintaining stock levels effectively (desirable).
- Previous experience working in a hospital setting, particularly in stores or purchasing roles, showcasing familiarity with medical consumables and equipment (desirable)
- Proficient in using barcode and scanning technology systems (desirable)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in stock control processes
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills, allowing you to interact effectively with various stakeholders within the hospital environment
- Committed to upholding safe working practices, fostering a clean and secure work environment for yourself and others
