Mater Education are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Educator to join the team! This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Mater Private Hospital - Townsville.

Mater Education is looking for an Educator to join the team in Townsville. Supporting our Diploma of Nursing, this role is based at the Mater Private Hospital Townsville campus.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

The RTO Educator will deliver and assess education and training within the Registered Training Organisation. You will be responsible for student management and accountable for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes for students within the organisation aligned to our mission and values.

You will support students within the classroom, simulated labs, workplace and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.

  • Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques for diverse student cohorts
  • Design, develop, implement and evaluate teaching resources aligned with industry standards
  • Engage in continuous improvement to enhance training quality
  • Deliver certificate programs to school-based students at Mater Education
  • Support multiple VETiS cohorts in Townsville region schools
  • Build relationships with students, clients, and colleagues through feedback and reflection
  • Ensure safety and sustainability practices in the learning environment
  • Contribute to program planning and development
  • Manage student assessments with constructive feedback
  • Engage in professional development for industry and teaching skills
  • Attend team meetings, events, and handle administrative duties
  • Manage student progress and provide educational support within portfolio

About you

To be considered for this role, successful applicants will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the relevant health industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and experience working within an RTO environment 
  • Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements
  • Ability to effectively manage and apply key conflict resolution skills in the student environment
  • Enthusiastic and engaging individual who is highly knowledgeable in the relevant industry
  • Strong adherence and acknowledgment of Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
  • Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team

Qualifications and Experience           

  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), mandatory
  • Valid Working with Children Card (BlueCard) or eligible to apply for Blue Card
  • Current Drivers Licence
