About the role
Join our passionate team at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton as a Registered Nurse-Midwife (Level1) in the Women’s Unit, on a full time/part time/casual basis.
Collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will have the rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care, conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, and support the growth and development of colleagues and nursing students through mentorship and coaching.
*Salary range: $43.69 - $53.53 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional and compassionate care to patients within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. Your key responsibilities will involve:
- Provide high-quality patient care by applying nursing and midwifery clinical skills and contemporary knowledge to support optimal care outcomes through care coordination, collaboration and communication within the scope of professional competence
- Cultivating meaningful partnerships with patients and their support network to ensure individual needs are met with compassion and understanding.
- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and crafting personalized care plans to achieve optimal outcomes for each patient.
- Undertake comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients and their support persons, where applicable and appropriate, are provided with adequate support through the provision of education, resources and proper community services access
- Offering support and guidance to colleagues and nursing students, drawing upon your wealth of experience and knowledge to foster growth and excellence within the team.
About you
We are seeking compassionate individuals who:
- Holds current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Possesses dual qualifications in general nursing and midwifery, showcasing a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Brings prior working experience relevant to patient-centred care environment/speciality commensurate with level of seniority required to meet the workforce needs.
- Has a currency of life support skills applicable to patient-centred care environment/specialty
- Provide comprehensive care and support to women during the antenatal and postnatal periods.
- Demonstrated experience in birth suites and special care nursery, caring for neonates from 32 weeks' gestation and above.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
