Clinical Nurse - Neuro/Cardiac stepdown

About the role 

Mater Private Hospital South Brisbane have a very exciting opportunity for multiple Clinical Nurses in a casual or permanent capacity in our newly opened Neuro/ Cardiac stepdown ward.

The 22 bed ward will consist of patients stepping down from our Coronary Care Unit as well as Neurology and Neurosurgical patients.

Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus 12% superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing 

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for Cardiac and Neuro patients
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Administer medications, manage IV lines, and assist with various diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care and lifestyle modifications
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards

About you 

To be successful in your application you will have: 

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration (no restrictions)
  • Post-graduate studies (completed or currently enrolled) highly advantageous
  • Considerable demonstrated experience in an Acute Care setting / Medical environment (ideally with a minimum of 12 months experience in cardiac/neuro)
  • Previous Clinical Nurse experience preferred
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Commitment to ensuring the highest level of service is always delivered to patients at all times
