About the role
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton are seeking an Infection Control Facilitator, to join the team on a part time basis of two days a week.
The Infection Control Facilitator (ICF) will undertake responsibility of the development of programs, policies and processes that align and comply with contemporary infection control practices, applicable legislative regulations, and standards. The ICF shall collaborate with the Service Quality & Safety Manager and Department Managers to ensure initiatives and programs are consistent and applicable to the Hospital operational and strategic objectives.

Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, manage, and evaluate governance of infection prevention and control systems, related programs, and services.
- Design, coordinate implementation and undertake evaluation of the healthcare facility’s infection prevention and control program and policies in compliance with the respective state and national accreditation, licensing, policy, or regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert infection prevention consultancy and strategic direction to the healthcare facility.
- Assist on decisions on facility construction and design, patient placement ratios and environmental assessments.
About you
Demonstrating the necessary qualifications and knowledge of the AS/NZS 4187:2014 and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards associated with the preventing and controlling of healthcare associated infections are key features of the role. Other professional features include:
- Current and ongoing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse; and
- Ability to demonstrate clinical and critical problem-solving skills
- High level of communication and organisational skills
