About the role

Mater’s Supply Chain Operations Team are searching for a Supply Chain Operations Assistant to join us in a casual capacity at our Mackay Private Hospital.

This role will see you provide support to the regional Supply Chain Operations team through efficient inventory and warehouse operational support. The role is proactive in ensuring a seamless workflow of inventory receipt and distribution to Mater customers, and in ensuring timely communication which supports quality stock control.

Salary range: $34.02 - $35.66 per hour plus Casual Loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure accurate receipt, distribution, and timely delivery of goods in the warehouse
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Operations team to address order and stock issues
  • Support stocktake activities and maintain high-quality stock control processes
  • Follow imprest management processes and contribute to improving the system
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and adhere to updated processes
  • Provide support to Mater customers and contribute to safe and effective operations
  • Communicate effectively with the regional leadership team
  • Support team development through meetings and learning activities
  • Contribute ideas and feedback for ongoing improvement
  • Promote Mater Group and Mater Health values internally and externally
  • Adhere to procurement and supply chain governance rules
  • Follow Work Health and Safety guidelines and report incidents
  • Participate in meetings and other forums as required
  • Undertake additional duties as requested

About you

  • Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in warehousing operations in a large organization
  • Experience with inventory management platforms, including imprest management
  • Prior healthcare inventory and warehousing experience preferred
  • Organized and detail-oriented self-starter
  • Proactive and collaborative team player focused on customer outcomes
  • Strong service delivery focus and ability to work in a team environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and providing feedback for service enhancement
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal well-being and safe workplaces
  • Actively seeks to improve health, safety, and environmental performance
