Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for an Allied Health Manager to join us in a permanent, full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services (DCS), The Allied Health Manager will oversee the strategic and operational management of allied health services at Mater Hospital Springfield, including inpatient and outpatient care. The role involves collaborating with the Senior Leadership team, ensuring best practice patient care, operational effectiveness, and strong stakeholder partnerships. Responsibilities include direct line management for planning, organisation and delivery of allied health services, managing a team of diverse professionals within the Allied Health Department.
- Provide strategic leadership and support to achieve Mater Health objectives within MHS
- Ensure high performance in delivering operational priorities and patient care, whilst meeting productivity targets
- Lead and manage the Allied Health team, setting direction and managing performance
- Provide clinical leadership and governance of the allied health team
- Develop regular reports and business cases as required by manager
- Manage day-to-day operations and decision-making for Allied Health services
- Ensure financial management aligns with budget targets and imperatives
- Comply with National Standards and facilitate continuous improvement
- Lead interprofessional teams, develop workforce planning profiles and optimise service delivery
- Participate in quality activities, accreditation processes and forums
- Collaborate and engage with all relevant stakeholders to enhance patient flow, access, and service integration across the continuum of care
About you
To be successful in the role, you must hold a tertiary qualification in one of the Allied Health professions - Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social Work and current registration or be eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or accreditation / membership with relevant Allied Health professional association or body.
- Extensive experience in management of a large, allied health team
- Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with clinical governance and clinical service delivery
- Extensive knowledge and experience in an acute health setting and proven ability to manage and lead effectively within a large complex health service
- Desirable – would be beneficial to have but not essential to perform the role
- Experience working with or partnering with a Private Hospital
- Relevant post-graduate qualification in Management
