Mater Research are looking for an experienced Research Nurse to join the Clinical Trial team! This part-time (0.6 FTE), permanent role will be based at our South Brisbane campus and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality clinical research that drives innovation and improves patient outcomes.
As part of our multidisciplinary research team, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and managing clinical trials within a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for independently managing and coordinating assigned clinical trials from start-up through to close-out, ensuring compliance with study protocols, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
You’ll:
- Oversee day-to-day trial operations including participant recruitment, data collection, and documentation.
- Act as a key liaison with investigators, sponsors, CROs, and other stakeholders.
- Lead submissions to HREC and governance bodies, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the research lifecycle.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous quality improvement across the Clinical Trials Unit.
About you
You’re a proactive and detail-oriented registered nurse who thrives in a collaborative clinical research setting. You’ll bring:
- Current AHPRA registration (without restrictions).
- Minimum three years’ nursing experience, ideally with exposure to clinical trials or research.
- Current ICH GCP certification and sound knowledge of Australian clinical trial regulatory frameworks.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Excellent stakeholder management and documentation skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in oncology or clinical trial coordination.
- ADAC qualification.
