About the role
Mater Private Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our team in this full-time, permanent position.
Based at our brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital in Springfield, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting financial strategy and performance at one of Mater’s most innovative facilities. You’ll work closely with clinical and operational leaders to drive informed decision-making and deliver meaningful impact for our patients, staff, and community.
$62.74 - $67.20 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a trusted advisor, you’ll partner with divisional and cost centre managers to provide expert financial insights and analysis. You will:
- Engage proactively with stakeholders to identify financial management issues and opportunities for improvement, contributing to enhanced financial, operational, and clinical outcomes.
- Participate actively in performance review meetings with divisional and cost centre management, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure sustainable resource allocation planning at divisional and cost centre levels, aligned with funding sources and organisational priorities.
- Collaborate with hospital and group leadership to deliver performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and funding assessments.
- Prepare accurate monthly performance reports and participate in review meetings, providing actionable recommendations.
- Support the integrity of financial data through journal preparation, accruals, and ledger reviews.
- Coordinate divisional budget cycles and full-year forecasts, identifying opportunities for financial improvement.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and optimise financial systems and reporting.
About you
You’re an analytical and collaborative finance professional who thrives on partnership and problem-solving in a complex, purpose-driven environment. You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Business (essential)
- Professional registration (CPA or CA) — highly regarded
- Demonstrated management accounting experience in a large or complex organisation (healthcare experience desirable)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate financial insights into actionable outcomes
