About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our dedicated team on our Medical Ward a 6-month full-time maximum-term contract.

In this rewarding role, you’ll provide advanced clinical care and leadership that supports Mater’s commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centred healthcare. You’ll work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team within a values-driven environment focused on excellence and continuous improvement.

Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Clinical Nurse, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, coordinating and supporting best practice for patients with a range of complex medical conditions.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of learning, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Promote patient safety and quality through active participation in continuous improvement and infection control initiatives.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to achieve optimal health outcomes and enhance the patient experience.

About you

You’re a confident and compassionate nursing professional who leads by example and is dedicated to achieving excellence in patient care. You bring strong clinical knowledge, leadership capability, and a collaborative approach to everything you do.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of three years’ full-time equivalent experience, preferably within a medical ward or acute care setting.
  • Proven ability to provide advanced clinical leadership and mentor less-experienced staff.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining best practice standards.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty (desirable).
