About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administration Support Officer to join the team at Mater Private Hospital Springfield on a casual basis. This role involves providing administrative support across inpatient services and the cancer care department, with rotations including main reception. You’ll be part of a welcoming, patient-centred team that values excellence, teamwork, and compassion.

Mater Private Hospital Springfield is a state-of-the-art 80-bed facility providing a range of medical and surgical services, including a combination of overnight and day medical/surgical beds, and a day oncology unit within a dedicated cancer care centre.

Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour (plus casual loading) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a valued member of our friendly and values-driven team, you’ll contribute to the smooth and efficient delivery of administrative services. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional front-of-house and administrative support to patients, families, staff, and VMOs
  • Accurately recording and maintaining patient information using hospital information systems
  • Responding to general patient and VMO queries with warmth and professionalism
  • Assisting with appointment and clinic management
  • Supporting general administrative tasks as required

About you

You’ll bring a proactive, team-oriented approach and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Well-developed customer service and communication skills
  • Previous administration experience within a hospital or healthcare environment (essential)
  • Experience using medical terminology (desirable)
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with iPM or similar hospital systems (desirable)
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
