Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has multiple opportunities available for Hospitality Services Assistants to join our dedicated team on a casual basis. Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in Central Queensland for more than a century. Our heritage listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Misericordiae Hospital North of Brisbane on 14 November in the same year.

Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 per hour, plus Casual Loading, plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

You will play an important part in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Working across both hospitality and housekeeping services, you will assist with meal preparation and delivery, maintain high cleaning and hygiene standards throughout the Hospital, and support the smooth day-to-day operation of patient and hospitality services. This is a hands-on and rewarding opportunity to be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and enhancing the patient experience within a respected healthcare environment.

About you

For this position we offer the opportunity to expand your skillset by gaining experience in our kitchen and hospitality team, food services, room service and cleaning areas where suitable.

Shifts are available across a 7-day week, with a range of shifts such as 4:30am to 12:00pm, 6:00am to 2:00pm, 7:00am to 3:00pm, and 2:45pm to 9:00pm. 

We are ideally looking for candidates that have:

  • A positive attitude and readiness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to recognise and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of current food hygiene principles and practices
  • Ability to engage with a variety of people
  • A strong sense of commitment to delivering high-quality service and continuous improvement
