About the role
Mater are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our team at Mater’s Newstead location. This full-time, maximum-term 12 months contract offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of accounts payable processes within a respected healthcare organisation committed to compassionate care and community service.
Salary range: $39.79 to $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will manage vendor master data and support the end-to-end invoice to pay process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational policies. You will act as a key point of contact for vendor-related enquiries, process and code invoices, and collaborate with internal teams to optimise financial operations. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support audit and testing activities to maintain high-quality financial controls.
About you
You are a reliable and organised professional with solid experience in accounts payable or financial operations, keen to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts payable or similar financial operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, with familiarity in tools such as Microsoft D365, Kofax OCR, or Eftsure highly regarded
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of transactional data efficiently
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills across all organisational levels
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
